Baby Bishop

Happy Monday to you!

It has been about 2 weeks since I did this photography shoot with the Bishops. My first try and I was a little nervous about it. 1) She was due any day! However Kristyn was awesome! She has already had two little ones who are precious. Even better, she had them while her and her husband were serving as missionaries in PERU! She just climbed all over the rocks and chased after Olivia and Noah. Anyways, little baby bishop hasn't been formally named yet. He arrived early around 2 am this morning with a few name options that haven't been decided on quite yet. I just wanted to share a few images from the photography session. Hope you enjoy!

Slow day

Good evening,

It has been a long, slow day. Full of....well not much really. In that time, while I sat at my desk today, I reflected on this place where I have settled in. Here are some of my reflections...

First Morning in Texas

Even in Texas, I wake up to frost on my car.

We have trails that lead to Dinosaur prints.

I officially am a fan of technology for this reason :)

This is (if not the most) one of the most beautiful spots of camp.

It feels great to get back into a routine. 

Everyday, the is something hanging to dry. My favorite are the mops.

Rocking chairs are everywhere.

And last, my windows let in abundant light. 

Well, unlike a lot of other people, my weekend started tonight. So for now I'm gonna enjoy a nice movie and the thought of relaxing.

You make beautiful things....

Tonight, I am sitting here listening to Gungors Beautiful Things. (if you've never heard it..you should)

I've also been staring at my little space that I specifically made for making art and clearing my mind. Geez that hasn't happened at all. There are papers and cut outs pinned to the wall. A dirty bowl that once had oatmeal in it a few days ago....thrown there on my way out the door to work. Papers piled, random rocks from a hike a couple weeks ago, watercolors, and a half full glass of water.

I haven't really looked until now... I've been so engrossed in the newsletter from work.. and then thinking of what to do next in my personal work, well thats just down right frustrating at the moment. I have lots of half done projects...some that are not started but need to be.

Instead...I am listening to how my God makes me new. Everyday He is making beautiful things out of dust and beautiful things out of us.

That is calming and inspiring to think about.

A new place and a new house

I am currently sitting on a bed in a house. It has been a little over a month since I moved. I am listening...

It is very quiet. The sunrise is taking place outside my window and I can see the light peaking through my shades. A new place.

            A new environment. A month later, after all the chaos of the holidays and the unpacking...
                                                                                                                            10 hours away.

I am grateful this morning, in this new year. I am finally able to start grasping this new life. This place.

                This place where God had taken me.
     A place where people come to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

I am..
          For the first time in a few months.... content.
Content: (adjetive) In a state of peaceful happiness.
